UTi Worldwide Inc. is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management and optimization solutions and services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services. UTi offers clients a suite of proprietary supply chain software applications called UTi eMpower to facilitate the online execution and monitoring of supply chain activities. Using UTi eMpower, our clients can monitor the placement of orders, track the status of their shipments, verify customs clearing and link to our planning and optimization software. In addition, UTi eMpower allows our agents and offices to link to our logistics systems in order to plan and optimize supply chain solutions for our clients.
As of January 31, 2007, our global network of freight forwarding offices and more than 200 contract logistics and distribution centers are strategically located in 65 countries and staffed by a team of more than 19,000 experienced and skilled people. We also serve our clients in 78 additional countries through independent, agent-owned offices.
Our global business operations are managed from six principal support offices in Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, and Sydney and in the United States in Los Angeles, California and Columbia, South Carolina.
