Eric Kirchner was appointed our Chief Executive Officer in January 2009. He has 28 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, serving previously as President of Freight Forwarding in UPS’s Supply Chain Solutions division for their global freight forwarding business. Prior to that, he was President North American Forwarding and President Global Transportation Services, and served as co-integration manager and member of the UPS integration steering committee which facilitated the transition of Menlo Worldwide Forwarding. Eric came to UPS in 2004 through their acquisition of Menlo (former Emery Worldwide), where he held various executive positions up to Chief Operating Officer. During his career, Eric has directed transportation and commercial air and ocean carrier relationships and has also managed contract logistics operations. His roles in operations, sales and marketing, as well as general management, reflect his extensive experience in managing global customer relationships and overseeing acquisition integration and business process transformation. Eric holds a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and has completed the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University.
Rick Rodick joined UTi in October 2012 as Executive Vice President – Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Rick had served as Senior Vice President, Finance, of Broadridge Financial Solutions, an ADP spin-off and provider of technology-based outsourcing solutions to the financial services industry, where he led the treasury, risk management, financial planning and investor relations departments since 2007. Before that, he served in three separate operating CFO roles in three different ADP business units, where he was responsible for financial reporting, financial planning, information systems, product costing, acquisition valuation and SOX compliance. Prior to joining ADP, he worked for 15 years at Ryder System, Inc. in roles of increasing responsibility that included senior vice president-finance, corporate controller, operations finance and internal audit. He gained broad international experience and led restructuring initiatives, system implementations and upgrades, and acquisitions and divestitures for key business units with Ryder. Rick is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Florida State University.
Ed Feitzinger was appointed Executive Vice President – Global Operations in October 2012. He had served as Executive Vice President – Global Contract Logistics and Distribution since September 2010, after serving UTi in a consulting capacity since April 2009. Ed has held leadership roles as both a customer and provider of global supply chain solutions. Prior to joining UTi he served as Senior Vice President of Golden Gate Logistics, a third-party logistics provider of freight forwarding and contract logistics services, and before that as Vice President of Worldwide Logistics for Hewlett-Packard, where he managed more than $1 billion in transportation and logistics spend. Prior to Hewlett-Packard, he was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Menlo Worldwide, where he also led the technology and engineering division. Ed began his career in operations engineering with AT&T Network Systems and the Intel products group. Ed holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
Gene Ochi is our Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. He is a member of our founding shareholder management team and has served in various roles of increasing responsibilities, including as our Chief Marketing Officer. Previously, he was our Global Leader of Client Solutions Development and led our company’s focus on developing solutions for our global and strategic clients. Gene has been instrumental in the development and branding of our long-term vision of becoming a leading provider of truly global integrated logistics services. Previously, he served as Regional Vice President, Western U.S.A., of Union-Transport Corporation. Prior to joining UTi, Gene was Senior Vice President of Marketing at BAX Global. He also served in various executive capacities for Flying Tigers, a cargo airline, and as the Vice President of Marketing for WTC Air Freight. Gene received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Ron Berger was appointed Senior Vice President – Chief Information Officer in October 2012. He joined UTi in July 2009 as Senior Vice President – Global Operating Processes, a newly created position to oversee the company’s business transformation, including the 4asONE initiative. Ron brings over 30 years of experience in freight forwarding, global supply chain and IT industries, most recently serving as Vice President and Chief Information Officer at FedEx Trade Networks, Inc. Ron also led enterprise-wide transformation efforts at Emery/Menlo Worldwide and UPS Supply Chain Solutions, building critical knowledge and specific understanding about business processes and what is required to execute business transformation in our industry. Ron started his career at CF AirFreight, which later merged with Emery Worldwide. Ron holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Finance from the University of Southern Florida.
Lance D’Amico joined UTi Worldwide in August 2006 in the newly created position of Senior Vice President and Global General Counsel. Since that time, he has taken over responsibility for a number of our corporate support functions, including Legal, Risk Management, Procurement and Corporate Development. He also has assumed the role of Corporate Secretary and Compliance Officer under our Insider Trading Policy. Prior to joining UTi, Lance was Executive Vice President, Strategy and Operations, with Element K Corporation, an educational software and publishing company. He was also an associate with the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Lance holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a law degree from the New York University School of Law.
Jeff Hammond was appointed Senior Vice President, Global Sales in March 2014. He joined UTi in April 2010 as Global Vice President – Customs Brokerage and Compliance, a newly created position which was part of the organization’s development of global product leadership overseeing growth and service delivery of its core products. Jeff brings over 28 years of experience in freight forwarding and contract logistics. Prior to joining UTi he served for six years as Director - Network Operations at UPS in its Customs Brokerage product group, leading activities associated with growth, service performance and acquisition integration. Prior to UPS, Jeff served 18 years with Emery/Menlo forwarding starting first in sales followed by a number of operations and business unit leadership roles in freight forwarding and Customs brokerage. Jeff is a US Licensed Customs Broker and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University.
InaMarie Johnson joined UTi Worldwide in October 2011 as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. InaMarie has more than two decades of global human resources leadership experience. Her wide-ranging responsibilities at UTi include HR strategic and financial planning, program management, organization development and effectiveness, and global workforce management. She is establishing change management and knowledge-sharing practices for the human resources function across organizational boundaries, serving as the champion of the UTi People transformation process and translating desired end-goals into specific initiatives. Prior to UTi, InaMarie served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Corinthian Colleges, Inc., a leading post-secondary education company. Additionally, she spent a decade with Honeywell International, where she provided human resources leadership for the transportation systems and specialty materials divisions, including organizational design, talent management, compensation, employee and labor relations, staffing, learning and diversity. Prior to Honeywell, she served for six years in human resources leadership positions with The Clorox Company. InaMarie holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management, from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Master's degree in Organizational Management from John F. Kennedy University.
Ditlev Blicher was appointed President – Asia Pacific for UTi Worldwide in June 2013. Most recently, Ditlev was Executive Vice President, Group Operations for CEVA Logistics, where he oversaw more than 1,300 facilities worldwide and was responsible for standardizing the company’s global operations, including the roll out of worldwide processes and operating systems. During his 17 years with CEVA, he spent 10 years in Asia, culminating in the role of Executive Vice President, North Asia. In this role, Ditlev oversaw a business of approximately 15,000 employees across all products and business units, throughout China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. Before that he held various management positions within EGL Eagle Global Logistics, including Director Asia-North America Business Development and Senior Global Manager, Global Agents. Ditlev received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northwood University, and completed executive studies at Oxford University.
Keith Pienaar was appointed President – Global Contract Logistics and Distribution in August 2014. Prior to that, he served as SVP Contract Logistics and Distribution for the company's Africa region. Keith began his professional career at UTi, joining the company in January 1984, and has held various roles of increasing responsibility in the Freight Forwarding and Contract Logistics and Distribution divisions, including serving as General Manager of the Sun Couriers division, and later as Managing Director of the Mounties division. Keith was responsible for the successful consolidation and structuring of these divisions and other UTi Africa warehousing and distribution niche businesses, including automotive contract logistics, ground transportation and UTi Pharma, into a single successful team. He has chaired the company's Contract Logistics Council since 2012.
Gavin Rimmer was promoted to President, Africa for UTi Worldwide in March 2007 and assumed the leadership role for EMENA in August 2013. Gavin joined UTi in 2004 and performed a number of project roles, including Managing Director of Sun Couriers, a division of UTi. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983. After completing his National Service at the Receiver of Revenue in 1987, he has held a number of leadership positions in the leisure and entertainment industry. These include a national video game business, the development and operation of the largest casino in South Africa, and the development and operation of a Southern Africa chain of hotels.
Hessel Verhage was appointed President – Freight Forwarding Americas in August 2014. Hessel joined UTi in April 2014 as Global Vice President – Trade and Compliance and as Interim Leader of the Americas ocean product team, bringing more than 20 years of freight forwarding experience. Prior to joining UTi, he was Vice President of International Operations for AIT Worldwide, a global shipping solutions provider. Earlier, he served as CEO of Global Link Logistics, a mid-sized ocean freight forwarding company, and before that, held various sales and operational roles, including Director of Global Ocean Services at Emery/Menlo Worldwide. Hessel served in the U.S. Army and holds a Bachelor's degree in economics from East Carolina University.
